Our Mission
The mission of Renewed Hope in Christ Ministries, a faith based, nonprofit organization, is to restore hope in the lives of men, women, adolescents, and children through life giving Bible teaching, practical application and Christian fellowship.
We are a support system for the hungry and needy, relying solely on donations of private citizens and businesses, in order to provide basic needs for those in the surrounding community. In serving somebody in need Renewed Hope in Christ Ministries is an example to all in the community of the Lord's love.
Open Door Policy
Renewed Hope in Christ Ministries is a non-discriminatory ministry. We address an individual’s need regardless of race, sex, financial situation or religious affiliation. Renewed Hope in Christ Ministries recognizes that variables such as unemployment/ underemployment, poverty, illiteracy, and spiritual distress contribute to violence, drug/alcohol abuse, prostitution and juvenile delinquency.
Therefore we believe that only the Word of God brings about a holistic remedy for the body, spirit, and mind of those we offer these services to. Renewed Hope in Christ Ministries believes practical application of Gods word brings about a transformation when yoking those in need with caring, supportive staff who serves as coaches toward personal growth and recovery.

How we cooperate within the community
Renewed Hope in Christ Ministries receives donations from various sources and we then distribute most items to local churches and organizations that in turn, distribute necessary items to the needy.
This is how Renewed Hope in Christ Ministries can create a "network" of cooperation that can reach out to the needy of other communities that are otherwise unreachable by us. Renewed Hope in Christ Ministries distributes the remainder directly.
Unity
We envision partnering with Local Law Enforcement Agencies, Domestic Violence Agencies, Memphis City Schools, Businesses, Churches and other Agencies to bring healing and reconciliation once again to the people of Memphis, surrounding counties and State.

Our History
RENEWED HOPE IN CHRIST MINISTRIES was founded by Pastor B.W. Burnett Jr. in December of 2000 at 729 Gilleas Road in Memphis, Tennessee. Pastor Burnett’s vision is to expand the Kingdom of God through God’s love and mercy in the Walker Homes/West Junction Community. This community is one of the poorest per capita income in the Memphis area.
How does RHICM reach a community where drug trafficking, prostitution, alcoholism, gang activity and teen violence are the norm? Weekly worship services, bible study and prayer add spiritual enlightenment and freedom to peoples’ lives and therefore these opportunities have been successful. To exemplify the love of Christ free clothes, school supplies and toys for Christmas continue to be distributed throughout the community. This is meaningful to the children of this community, as well as single or non-working parents.
In November of 2003 Renewed Hope in Christ Ministries’ vision expanded to the Orange Mound/Bethel Grove Community with a new location at 2764 Lamar Avenue. Many homeless and low income families in need come to receive free clothes, warm coats, and food. The food pantry and clothes closet are open weekly to provide emergency assistance for families with critical needs. A variety of outreach activities continue to draw people into the family of God. Summer fests include medical, optical, employment and community service information, free food, games, prayer, prizes, music and entertainment. No one leaves empty handed.
Community rebuilding started with an Oakview (now Kimble Park) Apartment Outreach Center. Another apartment outreach located at Rivertown Square Apartments off Airways in Memphis meant that weekly Bible Study and fellowship opportunity allowed our Savior to draw them with His loving kindness. Renewed Hope in Christ Ministries continues reaching out to save even one for the Kingdom of God. The one saved effects the whole community.
Renewed Hope in Christ Ministries partners with the City of Memphis Police Department in efforts to combat drugs and crime in the community. Neighborhood school visitation and involvement through mentoring, teaching and partnering have also been successful.
Renewed Hope in Christ Ministries visits neighboring areas frequently to give away bibles, hugs, share the gospel and prayer to those who will receive.
People are looking for renewed hope in their every day living. Renewed Hope in Christ Ministries’ mission is to take the Gospel message of the Lord to the lost in this city, state and the world, fulfilling the great commission.
Thank God for this ministry and the ministry partners who have contributed to its success.
